Privacy policy

ACRON respects your privacy. Your data will only be used for the purpose of us administering your membership to the ACRON and/or your subscription to ACRON’s newsletters. We will only provide data to third parties insofar as this is strictly necessary to fulfil the aforementioned administration purpose.

 

Which personal data is collected?

When you apply to become a member of ACRON, we ask for the following data which is deemed personal:

Name;
Telephone number; and
Email address,

of the contact person of the applicant company.

in the case of a ZZPer-applicant

When you apply to receive ACRON’s newsletter, Mailchimp will ask for the following data which is deemed personal:

Name; and
Email address

When you make use of our websites (acron.nl; jaaroverzicht.acron.nl; or registratie.acron.nl) the sites’ cookies will be downloaded onto your device, providing these sites with your online identifiers in order  to recognise your device.

What is the personal data used for?

  • To keep you informed of our current and relevant news about the progress of our activities and what we are working on
  • To maintain the proper smooth administration of your membership to the ACRON and/or your subscription to ACRON’s newsletters
  • We don’t use personal data to make automated decisions

Your rights in respect of your data

Provision is made at the bottom of every one of our newsletters for you to update your personal information.  You can request us at any time to access, correct, update, make an export of your personal data, have it removed or withdraw your consent to us processing your data by sending an e-mail to info@acron.nl.  We may ask you to verify your identity in order to us respond efficiently to your request. There are no costs associated with this.

Cookies

A cookie is a small file of letters and numbers downloaded on to a device when the user accesses certain websites. A cookie will allow a website to recognise a user’s device. A cookie will contain the name of internet location (the domain) from which the cookie has come and the lifetime of the cookie (a cookie will usually expire after a certain period of time).

ACRON uses cookies to recognise you when you visit our website. The cookies enable us to gather information about the use of our services and to improve them. You do not have to accept cookies, but if you opt to turn off or delete cookies generated via our website, it may not perform as it has been designed to, possibly reducing the functionality on our website, the options available to you, as well as the performance of our website during your visit. All modern browsers allow you to change your cookie settings. These settings will typically be found in the ‘options’ or ‘preferences’ menu of your browser.

ACRON uses Mailchimp to assist it with the administration of ACRON’s newsletters. By signing up to receive ACRON’s newsletters, you consent to Mailchimp’s use of cookies, more fully described at https://mailchimp.com/legal/cookies/

Third parties

ACRON will never sell your personal details to third parties and will only provide them to third parties involved in providing our services to you. Engaged third parties and employees of ACRON have access to your data in the context of the service, but are obliged to respect the confidentiality of your data.

Retention of your data

We will retain your data for as long as it is necessary to enable us to provide a service to you and we will retain it if there is a legal need to do so. This would be as follows:

  • For the membership data, as long as the company you represent is a member. Should you terminate your membership, the data will be kept for one more year.
  • For the newsletter data, as long as you are registered to receive the newsletter & for as long as the newsletter is actively distributed. Should you terminate your registration, the data will be deleted directly.

To file a complaint

You can come to us to complain about the processing of your personal data by sending an email to klachtencommissie@acron.nl . Under the Privacy Act you also have the right to file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority against these processing of personal data.

Change of privacy policy

ACRON reserves the right to change or supplement this privacy policy.  If you have questions about our privacy policy, you can contact us.  Should our privacy policy change, you will always find the most recent version on our website.
